WHY PFG?

Is due to community needs, Retired member from Family planning association (UMATI Temeke Centre)compelled to join together to form new group SO as to fullfill the gape of social services that we were providing when we were  working at UMATI Temeke centre as Peer conselors, before ending of the contract 1999.

UMATI policy at that time reguired members above 22years to leave centre for other Youth/children below 22 yrs to join the centre. 

Un-employment problems and environmental damaged, forced retired members from Umati Temeke to join together to tackle strongly this problems.

Government Policy at that time, sensitize youth to be in group so as to be reached easly for social assistances.

Inceases of numbers of people infected with sexual transmitted diseases, Drug abuse, and ealy  and unwanted pregnacies, in our sorrounding communuty.

The organization started 2000 with 15 retired members from Umati Temeke, and got its first registration certificate no 12633, Busness name, registratuin Ordinance (Cop 213) December 2000, before being Trustee since 2005. 

The headquarter is Tandika Azimio, Temeke , Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. 

A co-ordinated approaches which underscores grassroota inituative and active involvments of disadvantaged categories is pivotal to programmes, Strategy set out for implementation of our activitie as a cutting edge of our work is PEER EDUCATION AS A SOLUTION whose centre is to reverse the escalation of HIV/AIDS/STDs infection,Drug abuse, Ealy and unwanted pregnancies and mitigation in socio-economic effects.  

Povert Fighters Group Charitable Trust disseminate peer education skills and incoparated it in Youth and Children activities to wards behavior change.

  • Establishment and sustain local voluntarily peer educators groups  at family level
  • Train peer education skills to youth , children and elders.
  • Producing and dissemination information regarding HIV/AIDS/STDs and Drug abuse
  • Seminars/workshop/meetings on enterpreneurship skills./knowledge.
  • Community theatre arts performance regarding reproductive health, drug abuse,HIV/AIDS
  • Home based care to Drug affected victims and people living with HIV/AIDS.
  • Conseling services to Drug affected victimes.
