Our major programming and interventions are as follows:

 

1       HIV/AIDS AND MALARIA

  • Promote behavioral change as a means of curbing HIV/AIDS and malaria transmission.
  • Promote and support foster parenting of HIV and AIDS Orphans;
  • Initiate and support community owned groups for PLHAs
  • Provide care and support to orphans;
  • Strengthen the fight against stigma and discrimination to People living with HIV/AIDS;
  • Mainstream HIVAIDS and malaria into development and poverty reduction policies.
  • Promotion of voluntary HIV testing and counseling services.
  • Promotion of community-led care and support to most vulnerable children and people living with HIV/AIDS.

2       CAPACITY BUILDING

  • Undertake sensitization programs on Environmental Management, HIV/AIDS and malaria. 
  • Organize training program in relevant management skills to our members.

 

3       WEALTH CREATION

  • Promote alternative income generating activities to the communities. Horticulture, hybrid goats/cattle rearing and fruit farming

 

4        NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT 

  • Fisheries: - to work with existing Beach Management units (BMU) in order to mainstream HIV and AIDS, gender, environment and poverty reduction.
  • Sensitize the fishing communities on proper fish handling, storage and transportation;
  • Forestry: - Sensitize community on re-forestation as a      means of improved food security.

5       WATER AND SANITATION

  • Promote proper practices of water and sanitation in communities living along the Victoria lake chores in Tanzania.
  • Community sensitization on protection of water bodies from pollution starting with water sources.

 

6       LOBBYING AND ADVOCACY

  • Conduct a situational analysis of HIV/AIDS advocacy practices to identify achievements, challenges and gaps amongst the communities surrounding the fishing and mining communities for a purpose of developing sustainable policy advocacy strategies.
  • Increase public awareness, acceptance and understanding of the needs and concerns particularly of people leaving with HIV/AIDS and other marginalized communities through community-led advocacy.
