The African Peace Ambassadors –Tanzania (APAT), is a Tanzania grass root National registered NGO with diverse focus for sustainable development, established as of April 2005, and finally registered under NGOs registration ACT 2002 of the United Republic of Tanzania as of 28th September 2006, with registration number 00NGO/1816. The Organization focuses on several key sustainable development projects. The Organization has its Head Quarter in The city of Tanga, Tanga Region, North Eastern Tanzania.
The Fifteen Members national women led Organization was established by a total of 10 women and 5 men including 4 youths representatives with a vision of a progressive, equal, and respectable society with an equal values and ability to make distinct contributions towards healthy and sustainable livelihood.
The Organization day to day activities is run and managed by Executive Director who is answerable to the Executive Board, a key decision making body, planning, budgeting and policy making organ which meets quarterly to make key decision, approve budgets and planning of the organization. The Executive Board is answerable to the Annual General Meeting.
The organization majorly focus in the rural and underserved through innovative and sustainable social economic Development projects, provision of social economic services especially in Reproductive Health, Education , Human rights and women Economic Empowerment. We focus on women, Adolescents girls, Children and youths.
The organization empowered a total of 2,675 community members on the Child rights, national and international child rights convention and rescued a total of 11 Child laborers from orange agricultural fields and transport sector in Muheza District.
adolescents Girls Sexual Reproductive ( SRH ) project empowered a total of 1,251 in and out of school adolescent girls on SRH menstrual Management , provided a total of 361 adolescents girls with ( handmade ) Reusable Sanitary Towels.
Women Entrepreneurship project, empowered a total of 456 women and women groups organization members on the small scale business entrepreneurship skills, financial books of accounts, records keeping, banking and loan access,
